Day 10...Bishop Museum

This afternoon we went to the Bishop Museum in Honolulu. We saw a demonstration of lava flow. Rock was heated to 270 degrees and then poured out. Some magma gets to 500 degrees. We learned all about the different kinds of lava and the instructor held postcards in the lava and it started on fire. We each were given one.

 Patti with a seal.

This was a volcano shoot and I had to slide down it.

Al riding a snail. and below, is Al with a shark overhead. The museum had full sized whales, shark, and other sea life hanging overhead.

Al and I at the entrance to the museum. Some words learned today: Lua Peli= volcano; a a= lava; Mauna= mountain; Loa=big, huge, large.

We saw a show in the planetarium...we learned about all the stars and planets. We we were laying back and the chairs were so comfortable that Patti fell asleep!!! There was so much to see at this museum that we needed more time. By the time we get home we will know all about Polynesia.
