Driving along the sea wall. I was actually kind of disappointed. Galveston was supposed to be a wonderful golf shore island town...I had heard. But since hurricane Ike hit there are many stores and homes boarded up, singles and roofs falling off... many business' were closed and boarded... and falling apart...literally. The town really looked quite impoverished. There were a few things, like the pictures here that looked like some places were rebuilt like the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company and Carnival... Only the carnival wasn't running...Only on weekends. We did stop at a retail place that was built right out into the Gulf, and wondered why in the world someone would do that, but we need sunglasses for Al and a T-shirt for our Little Man. We drove around.... Not to far to go... And decided we saw enough and Tybee Island had this place beat by a looonnng way!!!
