On to the Tower of the Americas! This is one of only two observation towers in all of Texas. It was built for the 1968 San Antonio Worlds Fair which was held in the surrounding HemisFair Park. The fair celebrated San Antonio's 250th Anniversary. At the top is a restaurant and a two level public observation deck. An elevator took us up 75 floors to the top. There was also a history of Texas timeline that circled the walls at the top. This is the second tallest TOWER in the US... Second to the Stratosphere in Los Vegas. The top spins in a circle one full rotation per hour.
