Fort Yellowstone

Yellowstone National Park
was established in 1872 but poachers, souvenir hunters, developers and tourists became destructive and threatened the park's beauty. Civilians were hired to preserve and  protect but they couldn't keep up alone. They turned to the US Army for help. In 1886 the US Army came to Yellowstone and began 32 years of military presence in the park.
