This store was ALL earrings! It lured me right in! The name "peeplelures" represents earrings. This store was all earrings. The had some vintage earrings and many, many hand made earrings of every shape. style and color you could imagine. There were no mass produced big box products in here! Well, you know I found a couple pairs I liked!
2025.06.01 Porcupine Mountains
The Porcupine Mountains, also
known as the “Porkies,“ are located in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The
Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park is 60,000 acres in area and is
Michigan’s largest State Park. The park includes a 35,000-acre old-growth
forest and is one of the largest remaining stands of old-growth northern
hardwood forest in North America west of the Adirondacks. There are many
waterfalls in the park. The mountains were named by the Ojibwa who believed the
silhouette of the mountains resembled a crouching porcupine.
The Porcupine Mountains are one of
the oldest ranges in the world. They were formed during the Midcontinent Rift in
addition to volcanic action, uplift and erosion, approximately 2 billion years
ago. They may not be as tall and jagged as younger ranges like the Himalayas
(which are only about 30 million years old), their age makes them a significant
geological feature.

We took the back roads back to the campground. We got neighbors. Now how the hell are we going to get out of here.
Daniel Boone was a man
Yes, a big man!
With an eye like an eagle
And as tall as a mountain was he!
Daniel Boone was a man
Yes, a big man!
He was brave, he was fearless
And as tough as a mighty oak tree!
verse
From the coonskin cap on the top of ol′ Dan
To the heel of his rawhide shoe
The rippin'est, roarin′est, fightin'est man
The frontier ever knew!

Such tourists! 😉
Good idea to have the mosquito netting, Al. That will come in handy whenever you travel in more humid climates. Beautiful waterfalls!
