Settling in at The Resort in Mesa, AZ

It's been quite a week!. We have explored the RV Park and a few places around the area. Al has been going to the gym and the pool. We have been riding our e-bikes and....we joined a hiking group! They meet twice a week, Wednesdays are supposed to be the easy days. They lied. Walking 4 miles, climbing rocks, sliding down rock crevices on my butt and going up steep hills is NOT easy! Walking through Walmart is easy. I hurt so bad, I could hardly walk up the steps of the camper. I took some CBD and stretched a bit and am hoping I feel normal enough to hike again next Wednesday. We enjoyed the people and the views very much! Al is going to try the Friday hike which is supposed to be hard. I'm staying back. 😌

We went for a drive on Sunday and found Saguaro Lake which is on the Salt River in the Tonto National Forest and is formed by the Stewart Mountain Dam.  This is the fourth lake on the Salt River that flows through Phoenix and is a tributary to the Gila river.

We watched one of Cashton's hockey games sitting in this park!

Marley watches out the window.

This was a beautiful park!

Sitting outside enjoying the day!

The beginning of the Wednesday hike! I was feeling great! I was glad I wore that hat. The sun is glaring bright! The jacket was off shortly.

Still feeling great...nice and cool early in the morning.

Red Rock Mountain

The Salt River

This is up pretty high...after climbing rocks and sliding on my butt down rock crevices. I could still force a smile.

This is a town called Fountain Hill that was about 20 miles away. This fountain goes off every hour. We zoomed in to take this photo. I certainly hope they are recycling that water since they are so short of water here. You wouldn't believe some of the resorts here actually maintain grass. Kind of crazy.

This is the end of the Wednesday hike. I have to say, I was beat. My legs were shaking and my feet hurt and my smile was waning. This was one HUGE cactus!

We then drove down to the Salt River and saw this wild horse. There was a white one too but was a grainy photo after zooming in.

The wild horse was sticking his head all the way into the water and eating the soft grass at the bottom. It never moved while we were there. Apparently there are a lot of wild horses in this area.

Al is off to workout. I may take Marley for a bike ride around the park. I hope you all are well and staying warm! Love you all!
