24.03.22 Canyon of the Waterfalls

Canyon of the Waterfalls - Superstition Mountain

We're going way up there!

There were just 3 of us on this journey and I was leading the way.

I spotted this landmark for the trail on the way up and thought this was a cool shot with the early morning sun.

Then when we got closer the sun was in a perfect position to cradle between the spires.  If you look closely there's a couple of crows on the ground enjoying the shade near the base of the formation.

Part of the trail was steep in a slot between two rock formations.

This was a view of the slot from the top.

Some of this trail was pretty steep and we had to climb over some boulders in a wash in the canyon but this was the sketchiest part of the trail.  Barb is making her way around the cliff.

Rose didn't seem to mind the steepness!

We made it to the falls!

I was a little more adventuresome and wanted to see the top of the falls.  This photo is from the top of the first tier of falls.  This is where we took our lunch break.

This is looking up from the top of the first tier.

This is looking down from the top of the falls.

This is Rose near the top of the slot rock on the way back down.

The rock formation on the right is called Praying Hands.  This a great spot to thank God for all the beauty He provides us on earth!

Group shot of me, Barb Bratina and Rose McLeod.  Barb and her husband Mark are full time RVers and are on the site directly one block over from us at The Resort.

The far background is where we just came from.

We came across a bunch of these little geckos running around enjoying the sun on our way back down.

The prickly pear cactii should be blooming soon!

Vicki, I thought you would enjoy these photos of some of the desert flora.  We're hoping to get some really good photos of desert flora in the next month since it's starting to get in the 80's for highs now.
