24.04.02 Goat & Ram and Phantom Fox Beer Co.

We walked from the museum downtown and ate a fantabulous pizza and hummus appetizer at the Goat & Ram, and Al had a beer at the Phantom Fox Beer Co.

Back to the right is the distillery. They make their own beer.

This pizza was so good! The crust was light and crispy, the sauce had excellent flavor and the cheese was full fat good and stringy! YUMMO!!!

We walked around and checked out some sculptures. I think these frogs are doing the deed and Al thinks they are playing leap frog. What do you think??? That male frog just looks too happy.

The plaque reads:
"On a lovely spring day, a frog who was once a prince meets up with a fellow amphibian. Completely carefree and filled with glee, he engages in a game of leapfrog and realizes that being a frog is actually quite fun."

They Wait....for what we don't know. That is the name of the sculpture.

The Citrus Grower

This was in front of Pomeroy's Men's store and this statue is of Wayne Pomeroy.  Wayne was born in 1923 and raised in Mesa when the population was only 3500 people.  He served in the Air Force as a tail gunner in WWII where he earned the Purple Heart, Silver Star and Air Medal for his actions in the war.  When he returned he opened his men's and missionary store.  The building was built by his great-grandfather in 1878 and bought back by Pomeroy in 1977.  Pomeroy also served as Mesa's Mayor from 1976-1980.  I just had to give him a high five for all he had accomplished in his life!

The bus Stop

And....then we needed dessert!

Yummo!

And then we were full and tired after walking back to the truck.
