24.04.24 Dolly Steamboat, lunch at the Tortilla Flat Saloon, and a little cactus flower hunting!

Wednesday morning we set out for Tortilla Flat...back up the Apache Trail, to enjoy a cruise on the Dolly Steamboat on Canyon Lake. It was a beautiful 90 degree day. A bit breezy on the lake!

I made another video at the end...only 10 minutes this time! Check it out!

Leaving the marina.

There is a bald eagles nest at the top of this spire that has been lived in for over 15 years.

Big Horn Sheep!

There were 8 that we could see.

Al was trying to get the perfect shot...but this one with a huge rack just wouldn't turn around!

After the cruise we went to the Tortilla Flat Saloon for lunch.

A chili cheeseburger for me...

...and a cowboy BBQ Burger for Al.

Prickly Pear Lemonade for both of us! YUM!!!

Just had to do it!

Then Al decided to take me on an off-road adventure...we drove down the worst dirt road for miles, around potholes so big I could have hid in them and a washboards so rough, it was a chiropractor's dream! But...

...We found flowers!!!

...and a deserted boat in the middle of the desert!

The Superstition Mountains from another angle. Just love the mountains!

A huge Ocatillo

Weaver's Needle...a very tall peak. Al has hiked up to the base.

See where it says "You are here"? Do you see any roads there? Correct! There are none! BUT, we found flowers! 😁

Here is my video...enjoy! I think I'm getting better at this videography and editing stuff!

We are leaving this beautiful resort next week. We enjoyed our time here very much but it's time to explore and find another adventure....
